In her own words, “Thank you so much for emailing me, I was so happy to receive this scholarship! My name is Savanah Melch and I graduated from Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. I am an animal science major with a pre-vet concentration at LSU. I am also a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity for which I play intramural soccer for. I chose LSU because I knew I would find myself back in the DFW area upon vet school graduation, and I wanted to experience a whole new city. LSU was the perfect choice because it allowed me to take animal science courses while experiencing life in a different state. It also seemed perfect to my parents because they love New Orleans and visit there every time they come see me. I am a junior this semester and I’ve loved having fun in this city while also studying hard to achieve my goals. I find LSU to be beautiful, homey, and filled with amazing people and good food.
