DALLAS ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
The Dallas alumni chapter has 3 Flagship Scholarships endowed ($40,000 each). Historically, the criteria (determined by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships) has been an ACT score of 33 to 36 or a critical reading and math SAT score of 1440 to 1600 (on the Old SAT) or minimum total score of 1490 on the New SAT AND a 3.0 cumulative computed 6 semester high school GPA.
The Award is at least $20,500 per year for 4 years as long as the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The recipient also has the opportunity to earn an additional $1,550 per year by participating in the President’s Student Aide Program. The students can work in one of the many departments on campus up to 20 hours per week,
When the students apply and are admitted to LSU, they are automatically considered for these scholarships – NO SEPARATE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS REQUIRED.
Our chapter also has endowed a Dallas Legacy Award. This scholarship is given each Fall to an incoming freshman from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area who is admitted to LSU and has at least one parent who graduated from the LSU System. The student must have a minimum 25 ACT composite or equivalent SAT critical reading and math score AND a calculated 3.0 cumulative, 6 semester GPA.
The Award is $2,000 per year for 4 years as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and earns 24 credit hours per year.
When the students apply and are admitted to LSU, if criteria is met, they are automatically considered for these scholarships – NO SEPARATE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS REQUIRED.
Our chapter has one more $40,000 endowed scholarship – the Fred and Marj Burley Scholarship which was endowed by one of our long-time chapter members, Col. Fred Burley and is reserved for upperclassmen. Selection is handled by the Scholarship Office.
