DALLAS ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
How about those Tigers setting a record in the Citrus Bowl? Our LSU Dallas chapter has been setting some recruiting and scholarship records of its own. We had the largest number of students from the DFW area that we’ve ever had
to enroll this past Fall – 228! Of that number, nearly 50% received some
type of scholarship, and 8 of those were Flagship Scholars. These students
receive at least $23,000 per year.

2021 Flagship Scholars
I graduated from Lewisville High School. A few of my high school accomplishments would include being a Fantastic Farmer 4 times. Our mascot was a farmer and a Fantastic Farmer was a student who showed excellence in academics, excellence, equity and leadership. I also was awarded the Most Outstanding Freshman Trainer my freshman year as I was a student athletic trainer and was awarded the Most Valuable Trainer my junior and senior year. My intended major is Kinesiology-Human Movement Science. I am a part of Chi Alpha, a campus ministry, Kinesiology Club, and Phi Sigma Phi (A honors fraternity. Some of my outside interests would be playing piano, hanging with friends, kickboxing and doing research. I chose to become an LSU Texas Tiger because as soon as I stepped onto LSU’s campus, it felt like home. I fell in love with the atmosphere, and the people.
Thank you so much for the Flagship Scholarship award! I graduated from Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas, where I was the Liberty Band’s Drum Major for two years and a four-year member of the National Honor Society. I am studying Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science, and I intend to pursue a minor in Nutrition as well. My true passion for fitness, going to the gym, and inspiring others to lead a healthy lifestyle pushes me to do well in my academics and learn as much as I can about physical health. My whole family is from Louisiana, and many of them are LSU Alumni, so I have been very excited to live in this great city and come back to my cajun roots.
Thank you so much for the Flagship Scholarship as it has given me the ability to attend such an amazing school. I am currently studying to earn my B.A. in Performance and couldn’t be happier with my classes and my college experience! Already I have received roles in shows on campus and have also become a member of the Improv Troupe. These opportunities have also led me to make connections with many of the other talented students and educators. I will no doubt cherish my time at LSU…GEAUX TIGERS! (Ryan graduated from Flower Mound HS)
My name is Shray Shine, and I graduated from Coppell High School. Thank you for the Flagship Scholarship award. LSU has quickly become my home and the family I have built will be with me forever. This, in part, is because of this scholarship, so thank you again! GEAUX TIGERS!
Thank you to our supporters for helping the above 4 recipients join Tiger Nation!
