DALLAS ALUMNI CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS

How about those Tigers setting a record in the Citrus Bowl?  Our LSU Dallas chapter has been setting some recruiting and scholarship records of its own. We had the largest number of students from the DFW area that we’ve ever had to enroll this past Fall – 228!  Of that number, nearly 50% received some type of scholarship, and 8 of those were Flagship Scholars.  These students receive at least $23,000 per year.

Congratulations to this year’s Flagship Scholars!

DALLAS CHAPTER ADDS $30,000 TO OUR DALLAS LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

While at the LSU/UAB game, the Dallas chapter (represented by Board Members Jeremy Jones, Bryan Fox and Linda Young) presented a $30,000 check to the LSUAA.  This amount was added to our Dallas Legacy Scholarship and resulted from many long hours of work at Crawfish Boils over the past 3 years.

The Dallas Legacy Award of $2,000/year is presented to 2 students each Fall.  These students are from the DFW area and have at least one parent who is a graduate of LSU.  Congratulations to Fall 2022 recipients:  Elizabeth Faith Ann Miller (Coppell HS) and Emery Wilkinson (Frisco HS)!

2022 Flagship Scholars

Mark Stubbs

LSU Alumni DallasI am very thankful for the opportunity that the Flagship Scholarship has given to me. In May 2022, I graduated from Carroll Senior High School in Southlake with a 4.0 GPA and as a member of the National Honor Society. In addition to my schoolwork, I swam and played water polo all four years. As for my family, I am one of six children and the first to be an LSU Tiger. LSU has quickly become my new home, and I love everything about this university. My passion is technology and gaming, and I will be majoring in Computer Science and plan on going into the field of cybersecurity. When I return home for my summer breaks, I hope to find an internship in my field of study in the Dallas area.

Andrew Alexander

“I am a 4th generation LSU Tiger, and I would like to thank ya’ll for providing this funding for my scholarship. I’ve really enjoyed my time at LSU so far, and ya’ll have helped make it possible. This semester I made all A’s, and I’m hoping I can keep the bar set high. I’m really excited for what my future has in store and once again, I’d like to thank ya’ll for contributing to it. GEAUX TIGERS!”

Landry Nelson

“Thank ya’ll very much for the generous donation that supports my scholarship. It was very nice meeting you at the Scholars Banquet.”
