Dallas Legacy Scholarship Endowed
It’s time to do a little bragging about our AWESOME alumni chapter !!
After three incredible tailgate parties (LSU beating A&M, Oregon and TCU) and hugely successful Silent Auctions at our Crawfish Boils, local alumni officers recently presented our alma mater with another $60,000 check to complete endowment of our Dallas Legacy Scholarship!!! What’s even more mind-blowing is that our chapter completed this goal in less than two years!!!
The recent check was presented in Baton Rouge to the LSU Alumni Association by (left to right) Bruce Emory, Jeremy Jones, Linda and Ron Young and Ken Hill.
The Dallas alumni chapter is one of the largest alumni chapter outside of Louisiana. With this, our chapter has the desire to send some of the best and brightest high school students to LSU. The Dallas Legacy Scholarship, managed by the LSU Alumni Association, helps to offset the out-of-state costs of tuition for incoming students of chapter members.
Our work isn’t done yet . . . our chapter’s next goal is to establish funding for four students for four years! According to Linda Young, Chapter Scholarship Director, “The passion our alumni have for LSU can’t be described, and their desire to help the brightest students in our area is unlimited! We’ll need lots of help to reach our next goal but I am confident we will reach it sooner than expected.” MANY, MANY THANKS AND “GEAUX” to our members, volunteers, friends and vendors for helping us achieve this endowment.
