Sasha Castro is our newest Burley Scholarship Recipient*. She is a senior, majoring in biology and plans to take the MCAT in September. Sasha plans to become a neurosurgeon and hopes to attend UT Southwestern Medical School after graduation in 2017. Sasha is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and is a supplemental instructor for general chemistry for engineers and science majors at LSU. She also tutors through the Center for Academic success at LSU.
Sasha has participated in Habitat for Humanity in the Baton Rouge area and is active in various honor societies involving biology and pre-medical students. Sasha graduated from Bishop Lynch High School and played competitive volleyball in high school. Congratulations to a great student!
*The Burley Scholarship was endowed and established in honor of Fred and Marj Burley and is awarded to upperclassmen from the Dallas area. Once selected, the student receives $1000/semester until he/she graduates, as long as a 3.0 GPA is maintained.
