Hey, Texas Tigers!

For all of you who are new to the area or not familiar with what you volunteered for when you checked the "high school recruiting" box on your membership application, here's the info.  Our alumni volunteers help pass out brochures and info at the various college night programs all over the metroplex during Sept., Oct. and Nov.    Attached is the schedule for our DFW area, showing date, time and location of some of the programs we'll be working.  Some of you are aware that because of budget cuts, we no longer have our resident enrollment advisor, Kelly.   LSU will be sending one of the recruiters from Baton Rouge to help us, so whenever you see "Antonio or Amanda" that means one of them will be working the program along with alumni volunteers. Where the schedule says,  "Alumni", we need at least 2 volunteers for those nights and  3 for some of the larger programs.    If you notice some programs not listed (Plano ISD, Highland Park, Jesuit, Richardson ISD), that means we already have those slots filled.

Please check your schedule, and e-mail me ASAP to let me know where you'd like to help out. We will be holding training sessions sometime during the week prior to Sept. 14.  (More details to follow about that.)

Most of you who have helped with College Night in the past know it's FUN but also a VERY important and necessary step in the recruiting process.  In case you haven't already heard -- this past year we had another banner year recruiting.  Final numbers will come in once the students start class, but it looks like we have 125+ in this Fall 2009 class from the DFW area -- THANKS to all of you who helped out last year with the College Night programs!

The good news is we've had lots of  new people volunteer to help with high school recruiting, so these nights will fill up fast.  Looking forward to hearing from you, and THANKS AGAIN for volunteering!
