Watch PartiesWatch Parties are Rockin' and Rollin'! Even with the extreme variance of start times for our first 3 games (9:30 PM at Washington, 6 PM for Vandy and 6 PM again tonight for ULL,) we have had good attendance at both of our watch party locations. (You can find the locations and maps for Fox & Hound and Sherlocks on our website) Tonight's game with ULL begins again at 6 PM so plan to arrive at least 30 mins. prior for good seats. Remember, other games may be in progress up until our start so be considerate of the hoops that our locations are jumpin' through for us. And be aware that next Saturday's game at Miss. State will have an 11:20 AM start and will only be on the SEC network, so make plans to fill our watch locations when they open at 11 AM with fellow LSU Alumni.LSU Alumni Dallas' Texas Tiger TeesThe new 2009 Texas Tiger Tees are now available and can be purchased either at our watch locations during each game or on line on our website. (With the exception of a limited number of medium and large sizes of the 2008 Ladies Black Texas Tiger Tees, we are sold out of the 2008 models.) You don't want to miss getting one of these as they are available in men or women's styles. The Dallas/Fort Worth SEC tees, "The Biggest 12," are also available at the game locations. All of our tee shirt sales benefit our scholarship funds for Dallas/Fort Worth LSU students.High School RecruitingHigh School Recruiting nights began this week and will go through next week and conclude the early part of November. Thanks again for all alums who volunteered to assist throughout the metroplex to bring the good news of LSU's quality to prospective future tigers. Your assistance is paying huge dividends in the large number of students from Dallas/Fort Worth who now call LSU home. On behalf of our Scholarship Chair, Linda Young, we couldn't have done it without you. Thanks!LSU Alumni Dallas Membership GrowingOur membership in our LSU Alumni Dallas chapter has grown almost fourfold in less than 3 years and now numbers 580. Of that number, 286 have renewed their membership and of that 286, 116 are new members from January 1st of this year. If you are one who falls in that "former member" category, we need your continued support. And if you are one of the over 1,600 email recipients on our list who have never joined our LSU Alumni Dallas chapter, there is no better time to become an active member than now! Your $25 annual dues for individuals or families gives you discounts which can pay for your membership but more importantly allows us to continue to endow additional scholarships for DFW students through LSU Alumni Association. Membership applications can be obtained either online or downloadable through the membership link on our website. (You'll be receiving a special email shortly explaining why your membership this year has an even greater urgency. Watch for it!)Thanks for being a part of the fastest growing chapter outside of Louisiana and helping to make our associations together more enjoyable. Cya at the watch parties!
