Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a Bowlin' we will Geaux! And where better than the premier bowl sponsored by one of our premium sponsors- Capital One Bank. New Year's Day at noon will pit our LSU Tigers against the Penn State Nittany Lions in a rematch of our last meeting 36 years ago in the Orange Bowl. For those of you who weren't around at that time, our Tigers, led by All American Bert Jones, finally succumbed to the brute size of Penn State, led by Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti, to the tune of 16-9. This marks the 41st appearance in a year end bowl for LSU and the 10th year in a row (9th longest bowl streak in the nation.)

Our watch locations, Fox & Hound and Sherlock's, will be primed and ready to host our parties so have a safe entry into 2010, wash away the cobwebs and get to the watch locations in time to get good seats and help us welcome in the '10s with another LSU victory. Both locations will open at 11 AM so get the word out to your family and friends. Tell them that you're going to be there and they need to join you. Let's make this last Tiger watch party the largest and loudest of the year and welcome in another 10 win season! Remember- Revenge is sweet!

As we wind down the year 2009, we want to thanks the hundreds of alumni and alumni by choice (ABC) who supported our Dallas Chapter with your memberships. In the last 3 years, we have added over 160 new members annually and have expanded our email reach from 450 fourfold to over 1800, thanks to your help. With each of us having a common passion and desire to extol the assets of a higher education at LSU, we have added another completely endowed Top 100 Scholarship and thanks to your membership, have begun a fourth with over $7000 this year from membership dues alone.

It is a pleasure to count the endless number of new friends that we have made at the Crawfish Boil, the Freshmen Send Off Party, the Happy Hours and of course, our weekly watch parties during athletic seasons. Your appreciation and participation makes our efforts all worthwhile.
